The Solstice Split

On one fateful day, the Earth stopped turning. It simply stopped spinning on its axis, meaning that one side of the planet would be blasted by the sun at all hours, dooming it to an everlasting, sweltering day while the other never received any of its light, cursing it with an endless, frigid night. This day came to be known as “the day the sun stood still”. This drastic climate change has rendered much of the Earth desolate, leaving the survivors to establish a new social order.
