The Pits had been a staple of the Underground community, even before the Great Fallout. For decades, throngs of spectators would pack the stands, cheering and screaming as they bet on their fighting hounds, those who battled in the mud for the amusement of the crowds held into high esteem. It was a source of pride for the Undergrounders who had the winning dog, and it seemed like nothing could ruin this spectacle. But, after decades of bloodshed and cheering, the world changed. Though there was some call for caution, it was deemed safe to venture above ground. The spectators decided to abandon their old ways and start anew. The fights were a thing of their past, something to look back upon. A hard time in history. The crowds began to disappear, and soon the stands were empty. . . All except for the souls who still knew nothing but violence. There was nothing left but the very canines that were once ruled over by the spectators. They would soon turn the Pits into their own source of entertainment and hierarchy; and have thrived much under the rule of their Overseer. Fighting is what they know, fighting keeps them alive. Fighting is their ritual. Those too soft to shed blood are soon to die, there is no mercy for the weak.
