Centuries ago when the Kingdom of Maris was new monsters lived among us. There was an uneasy peace being held together by one man. The first king of Maris did his best to unite the people and make a safe place for everyone to live. Eventually tragedy struck and the Kings family was ripped away from him. His wife was murdered and his children went missing. He was lost to the dark woods outside of the kingdoms walls. The king was quickly replaced and the new ruler chased out the monsters. They were blamed for what happened to the royal family and either murdered or escaped to what we now know as the mosslands
